On October 5, 1C-Bitrix in cooperation with Russia’s major internet companies organized in Kaliningrad a seminar of the Website Formula fall seminar series. Tatyana Novikova, Senior Project Manager at the Coordination Center, spoke at the seminar to cover legal aspects of domain use, including general rules of domain name exploitation, possible grounds for website blocking and specifics of domain registration if the domain matches a trademark. Novikova also emphasized relations with copyright holders and trademark protection. The topic is coming into the focus for Coordination Center experts in their talks this season.
The event stirred great interest in internet entrepreneurs, with more than 600 registering to participate. The audience asked questions about domain disputes, trademark registration and on how to avoid being blocked by accident.
It is the third year the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has participated in the Website Formula seminar series. CCTLD benefits from improving interaction and relations with end users and advising them on nuances of working with the domain space, which is increasingly used for business development. This year, the center’s experts will expand the geography of their participation and travel to the seminars in Tomsk, Bryansk, Novokuznetsk, Voronezh and Belgorod.
