The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ delegation attended the 58th CENTR General Assembly, which took place in Brussels, Belgium, on 4 and 5 October 2017. In her presentation, Irina Danelia, Deputy CEO, highlighted on findings of the domain market elasticity research on the Coordination Center conducted prior to the price rise at .RU. The audience was made aware of a massive preparatory work Russian registrars and other domain market agents were engaged in before the price increase.
This year, CENTR also held a groundbreaking members Leader’s Day. Heads of European registries shared their ideas on building a most efficient collaboration on strategic issues. In the dedicated session, Andrei Vorobyev, CEO of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, walked the peers through the Coordination Center’ priority activities, includingthe strive to ensure both .RU and .РФ’s operation’s meeting international standards; efforts to promote interoperability, continuity, stability, and security of the Russian national internet segment’s functioning; focus on the safe internet use; support of the Russian internet community; promotion of the use of the internet in Russia for the users’ businesses and state’s benefit,; and promotion of seameless domain registration services.
