On July 11, the Council of the Coordination Center for Top Level Domains (Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ) held a regular meeting to discuss the draft priorities and strategic goals for 2017−2019. The council proposed that the document that had been presented by Coordination Center CEO Andrei Vorobyev be forwarded for consideration by the General Meeting of Founders.
The document includes the following priorities for 2017−2019: to maintain the compliance of .RU/.РФ domains with international standards; to ensure the integrity, continuity, stability, sustainability and protection of the Russian segment of the internet; to help enhance the safety of internet users; to support the Russian internet community; to promote the use of internet in Russia for the benefit of users, businesses plus the state; as well as to maintain the quality and accessibility of domain registration services.
“Actually, the majority of the above objectives and strategic tasks have always been among the Coordination Center’s priorities, but this time we have formulated them more clearly in a single document. This is especially important now that the focus is on the safe and stable operation of critically important information infrastructure facilities,” Coordination Center CEO Andrei Vorobyev said following the council’s meeting.
The council members also discussed amendments to the Regulations on the Council of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and elected the Audit Commission. Both decisions will be submitted to the General Meeting of Founders for approval.
