Five years ago, on May 23, 2012, The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and the Rostelecom national telecommunications operator launched an educational project for school children Explore the Internet & Govern It!
The project was presented as part of the Svyaz-Expocomm 2012 exhibition. The organizers conducted a demonstration championship for Moscow schoolchildren.
Today, the website has some 90,000 budding users from all over Russia. Every year about 15,000 schoolchildren from the majority of Russian regions take part in the Explore the Internet & Govern It! national online championship.
The online championship will be held for the sixth time this year, and will be devoted to a topical theme – the Internet of Things (IoT). Registration has already started and will run through October 31. The competitions will take place on November 1-31, 2017. All prize winners in both individual and team sections will receive diplomas and commemorative gifts.
