On April 6, Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency hosted the award ceremony for the winners of the 2016 Russia’s Economic Revival journalism competition. The 23rd edition of the competition was held as part of the Russian Forum of Business Media. The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ was the business partner of the forum and the award ceremony.
Applications from 124 cities and municipal entities all around Russia were submitted to the competition. The jury selected the winners in the following categories: The Best Regional Media; The Best Individual Publications; Industry-specific Media; and A Successful Debut. Mark Tverdynin, adviser to the Coordination Center director for social projects, presented certificates to the winners in the category Best Mass Media in the System of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Sergei Kopylov, deputy director for legal issues at the Coordination Center, delivered a report, “Domains and the Media: Legal Issues of Domain Names Registration and Administration,” at the Forum of Business Media. Forum participants also discussed the role of business media in covering the issues of shaping favorable business environment in the country, the features and the structure of the Russian media system, legal issues related to media operations, and many others.
