At the invitation of the Association of Documentary Telecommunications, Georgy Georgiyevsky, head of the Coordination Center’s Registrar and End-User Projects Department, gave the lecture “Internet network: address space, domain names and registrars” at Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI). The audience was third-year students. He talked about the structure of main internet elements, principles of address space distribution and the system operations aspects of domain names.
At the end of the lecture, students asked many questions, mostly concerning DNS and WHOIS databases. As evident from the questions, student computer and network literacy has been growing as has their interest in internet organization and services performance.
“Education is one of the social priorities for the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ. The students were really interested in the subjects. Their questions were smart and intelligent. The practice of giving lectures at MTUCI and maybe other universities should be continued,” Georgy Georgiyevsky said.
