On December 16, two weeks before the New Year holiday, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ organized a pleasant surprise for record-setters in the 2016 IT marathon and the online championship Study the Internet, Govern It – a private screening of the new Russian movie “Good Boy.”
The movie, which won the Grand Prix of the Kinotavr 2016 film festival, follows ninth grader Kolya Smirnov as he deftly navigates a series of bizarre and funny situations. Konstantin Khabensky, Mikhail Yefremov, Alexander Pal and many other famous actors round out the cast led by the young Semyon Treskunov as Kolya.
After the movie the winners received presents from the Coordination Center: a retro calendar with a fact a day on domains and the internet, and ice cream that was quickly polished off despite the cold weather.
“Everyone deserves a little wonder on New Year’s eve. We decided to celebrate the forthcoming holidays in this unusual way. Also, 2016 was the Year of Russian Cinema, so we supported it by showing a good current Russian movie. Our champions deserved it and I think such parties for students will become a good tradition,” said Coordination Center Director Andrey Vorobyev.
