The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and the Rostelecom national telecommunications operator have announced the beginning of the fifth national online contest Study the Internet, Govern It. A total of 14,445 school students have registered for the contest, 4,696 of them as members of 563 teams from across the country.
The contest participants will have to fulfill several tasks of different complexity within 60 minutes. This year’s tasks concern online security, such as protection against online threats, data confidentiality and safe social networking.
The three best individual participants and the three strongest teams will be awarded prizes, which include digital equipment for studies and entertainment this year. Winners in the individual and team entries will receive an Xbox 360 500GB gaming system and a Forza Horizon 2 racing video game. Silver medalists will receive Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM smartphones. Those who win bronze will be able to keep their equipment charged with a portable Black Fox BMP 104 charger.
Study the Internet, Govern It is a social education project for school students and new users, who can learn basic information about the structure, possibilities and operating principles of the net.
