On September 20, Park Inn by Radisson Pribaltiyskaya in St. Petersburg will host a round table discussion on the role of hosting providers and domain name registrars in blocking access to illegal content. It is organized jointly by the Coordination Center for TLD RU (CC) and Roskomnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media). The event will coincide with SPEKTR-2016, a national forum on legal regulations on using radio frequencies and ITC products.
The event will be attended by representatives of the CC, Roskomnadzor, employees of relevant agencies cooperating with the CC (ROCIT and Group-IB), as well as experts on education and media literacy. They will discuss practices of limiting access to illegal content, their efficacy and recent achievements.
SPEKTR-2016 will provide a platform for open dialogue between business and the regulatory agency responsible for communications and the media. It is designed to foster contact between government agencies and representatives of the telecommunications industry and the Internet community. The forum will be attended by officials from Roskomnadzor, the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media, the Federal Communications Agency, the Defense Ministry, the radiofrequency service, the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS), the Radio Research and Development Institute (NIIR), communications providers and equipment producers.
