The Internet Development Institute (IDI) has unveiled its IDI-IDea crowdsourcing platform at the Internet+Society forum. The platform is a way to harness the knowledge and experience of IDI experts to take on challenges facing Russia’s internet industry and internet-dependent industries.
IDI-IDea, which is currently in beta, polls IDI experts and streams IDI-sponsored forums. May and June will see four such forums take place, all in the I+ category: Media, Sovereignty, Education and Economy. Another forum, Internet+Trade, will be held on June 28. Forum materials, transcripts and videos, as well as presentations, will be available at IDI-IDea.
A new feature will be added soon, enabling experts to take part in Internet+Society forums remotely, leaving comments, talking to other users, including forum participants, on the platform, or suggesting their own topics for discussions. This digital forum will remain open even after the end of its offline counterpart, giving the experts an opportunity to continue their productive discussions and thoroughly analyze all the ideas put forward at the forum. The full-feature version is expected to be released in September 2016.
“IDI-IDea gives every expert a day-to-day opportunity to participate in the most efficient way in the Institute's initiatives. It is important for experts to be as involved as possible in the IDI’s current activities, to voice their ideas, and to be able to quickly discuss new ideas appearing on the platform,” IDI head for cooperation with experts Alesya Mamchur said.
The IDI currently works with 750 experts, including owners and CEOs of the 400 leading Russian IT companies. At the IDI, they are engaged in the following eight I+ areas: I+ Media, IT+ Sovereignty, I+ Education, I+ Society, I+ Trade, I+City, I+ Finance, I+ Medicine.
