Participants in Jamboree 2016 conference discuss domain name secondary market

On May 17-19, the CENTR Association of European Country Code Top-Level Domain Name Registries held its 38th working conference, Jamboree 2016. The event, which took place in Brussels, brought together over 170 participants from various countries, including delegations from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and the Technical Center of Internet. The three-day conference featured seminars in six areas, as well as interactive events and unofficial meetings.

Deputy Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Irina Danelia, who is also a member of the board at CENTR, took an active part in seminars on administrative and marketing topics. Participants in the seminar discussed important issues of interest to many country-code domain name registries, for instance, the ways to form an open and transparent secondary market of domain names, new approaches to registries' work with registrars, and many others.

The R&D (Research and Development) seminar featured a report by Dmitry Belyavsky, a representative from the Technical Center of Internet. The report was dedicated to the support of non-standard cryptography means in Open Source libraries with an example of Russian cryptographic algorithms. Belyavsky shared his experience in adding the support of Russian cryptography in a series of libraries and spoke about the need for close cooperation with library developers to maintain the current conditions and choices a developer might face.

One of the conference days featured various interactive events, among them business games, discussion and brainstorming. Representatives from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and the Technical Center of Internet talked to their foreign colleagues and suggested solutions to many pressing issues national registries are facing.
