In February 2016, Group-IB sent accredited registrars 149 requests to remove malicious domain names from delegation, which is 12 fewer requests than in January. As a result, 140 domain names were taken down.
Of the 13 domain names currently delegated, nine were not blocked as their administrators quickly remedied the violations. Four domain names were unblocked at the request of CERT-GIB after their owners resolved the problem through a standard procedure. Meanwhile, 136 domain names remain blocked.
The majority of domain violators are phishing resources (62 percent), with botnet controllers (5 percent) making up the smallest group.
