The Coordination Center for TLD RU and Rostelecom have announced the start of the registration for the all-Russia online championship, Learn the Internet and Manage It! Applications will be accepted on its official website http://игра-интернет.рф until September 30, 2016.
Learn the Internet and Manage It! is a popular social and educational project, aimed at increasing web literacy among young Internet users. Participants will learn more about the structure, functions and opportunities of the Internet. The 2015 championship brought together a record number of participants, over 15,000 people from all over the country, including Crimea.
It is impossible to imagine today’s world without the Internet. Dozens of years ago, it was the domain of scientists and military personnel, and was only accessible to laboratories and large research centers. Currently, anyone can have Internet access: in cafés, at school, on the street and at home. Each year, the number of Net users grows and everyone uses it in his or her own way. Some people only use it to communicate in social networks, write e-mails, or simply to search information, while still others visits educational websites.
The Internet has long stopped being a mere computer network; it is a special world with its own rules and laws, threats and opportunities. Anyone in this world can both use its services and also, to a certain extent, govern it. . How can users do that, what can they influence and who will they become in the global network? The answers to these questions depend on our knowledge, skills, commitment and determination.
Participants in the 2016 championship will be able to compete individually or by organizing school teams, which will be able to compete for a spot in the national school rankings. Valuable prizes will be offered for individual or team winners.
