The Institute of Internet Development (IID) autonomous non-profit organization presented a concept of eight I+ thematic forums for 2016. The series will open on May 10 at the Internet+Media forum as part of the Communications-2016 exhibition. It will be followed by the IT+Sovereignty, Internet+Education, Internet+Society, Internet+Medicine, Internet+Finances, Internet+Trade and Internet+City forums.
The news conference was attended by Presidential Adviser and Chairman of the IID Council German Klimenko, Director of the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC) and IID Council Envoy Sergei Plugotarenko, President of the Media Communication Union Sergei Petrov, Director of the Foundation for the Development of Internet Initiatives Kirill Varlamov, Director of the Regional Public Center for Internet Technology Sergei Grebennikov, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ Andrey Vorobyev, Managing Partner of RunCapital Andrei Romanenko, Vice President of Rostelecom Alexei Basov, President of Koodoo Technologies Anna Meshcheryakova, Professor of the Medical Informatics chair at the Yevdokimov Moscow State Medico-Stomatological University and head of the Internet+Medicine Committee Georgy Lebedev.
All I+ forums will be held in a new result-oriented format that will allow representatives of the Internet industry, offline businesses and the government to elaborate in detail the main methods of cooperation on implementing roadmaps and presidential instructions following the Internet+Economy forum. “Our task is to promote the Internet’s expansion in traditional offline areas, such as medicine, construction, finance, education, housing and utilities and transport and speed up the modernization of the legal framework. So, the key task of the I+ forums will be to create a venue for dialogue between representatives of all interested parties,” Presidential Adviser and Chairman of the IID Council German Klimenko said.
“We have established our positions on organizational issues, held several meetings and compiled a list of the main members of the working sub-group. That said, every topic will require additional expertise. This is why we’ll invite new experts to take part in our work. I’m pleased to say that many experts are interested in our work and I’m receiving their applications for membership in the working subgroup. All of its members committed to achieving results and working efficiently. The subgroup has determined seven primary areas and compiled a list of priorities for each of them. Now they are working on details,” Managing Partner of RunCapital and member of the IID Supervisory Council Andrei Romanenko said.
“One of the IID’s important tasks is to establish a community of experts for Internet+ clusters where we don’t have many specialists. I+ forums are designed to consolidate our approaches towards the formation of a uniform inter-branch agenda and its presentation to the government,” Sergei Plugotarenko, director of the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC) and IID Council’s Envoy, said.
In his speech Plugotarenko said the IID founders have much experience in launching long-term conference projects and developing research products, which will be useful for the preparation of eight forums. I+ forums will by all means be a long-term project that will make its developers proud. It will be useful for the Internet industry and affect decision-making at all levels. It will set the trends in which everyone will be actively involved – from the country’s government and large companies to branch specialists.
“In fact, we are in the very beginning of creating an integral ecosystem that in five years will produce tremendous fruit as a result of switching the economy to the Internet format, and developing and implementing strategic projects. It is very important for us, our country, the Internet community and, of course, the IID to be ahead of technology and look towards the day after tomorrow as opposed to tomorrow,” Plugotarenko said.
