The 20th Anniversary Russian Internet Forum (RIF+KIB) will take place in Moscow on April 13−15. For the 20th consecutive year, the forum brings together representatives of almost all IT companies. The TLD RU Coordination Center is the forum’s official partner and traditionally supports this domestic IT industry’s oldest event.
The RIF + KIB 2016 participants will enjoy an extensive program prepared by the Coordination Center. On the first day of the forum, all those interested in the progress of the Russian domain space can attend the Domains 2.0 panel, which will be moderated by Director of the Coordination Center Andrey Vorobyev. The participants will discuss the domain industry’s current issues, such as pricing, changes in affiliate programs and possible future market redistribution. Representatives of the registrars and registries of new domains, as well as experts in judicial practice in the field of domain name disputes, will make presentations. An agreement between the .RU/.РФ domain Coordination Center and Roskomnadzor on including that organization in the list of Netoskop research and technical cooperation project participants, which is designed to ensure domain name security, will also take place during the panel, which will open in Room 7 on April 13 at 3:30 p.m.
Upon completion of the open panel, the room will be used to hold a TLD RU Coordination Center closed panel for Russian domain industry participants, including representatives of registrars, hosting companies, and companies planning to engage in the domain business. The panel will focus on the most pressing hosting and domain issues. The participants will discuss the cancelation of licensing procedures, the demise of old market models, decentralization and the responsibility of newly available information intermediaries. Andrey Vorobyev and Andrei Savelyev (.РФ domains) will serve as the panel's moderators. Admission is provided according to the participant list. Preliminary accreditation is required for participation.
On April 14, the second day of the RIF+KIB 2016 forum, 300 school children will participate in a special program. The Coordination Center will set up a separate "kid" zone, where students will be treated to tea and snacks, take a break, talk with each other and participate in the Learn the Internet − Manage It! open championship, which will be held that day. The April 14 contest will, as is customary, kick off the fifth All-Russian Learn the Internet − Manage It! championship.
The Coordination Center stand will be open all the three days of the forum. This year, the center invited 10 accredited domain name registrars to its stand, each offering its own activities for participants. Every hour, the Coordination Center will hold a quiz dedicated to the Internet in Russia and the world. Winners will receive various Coordination Center prizes.
