Sergei Kopylov, Deputy Director of the Coordination Center for TLD RU (CC for TLD RU) and Head of its Legal Department, has been appointed chief legal advisor of the Internet Development Institute (IDI). The appointment was announced at the meeting of the IDI heads of working groups, committees and centers of competence held at the Federation Council on March 9.
The meeting participants discussed changes in the institute’s structure, interim performance and plans for 2016. The IDI is working in eight priority spheres of Internet application, including commerce, healthcare, and the development of social institutions, with roadmaps and a list of activities prepared for each sphere. Sergei Kopylov will be responsible for the legal assessment of proposals to amend these roadmaps.
“The Coordinating Center has accumulated considerable experience in legal assessment in the domain market and Internet development. I’m sure that this experience and our knowledge will benefit the Russian Internet community. The IDI is doing critically important work, and I’m happy to be able to contribute to it,” Sergei Kopylov said.
