On March 3, representatives of the Coordination Center for TLD RU attended a meeting of the Internet Development Institute experts at Yandex headquarters. Meeting participants summed up the results of the institute’s performance in 2015 and discussed plans for 2016.
A new crowdsourcing platform was unveiled during the meeting, and plans for subsequent work on eight priority Internet development “road maps” were charted. The Coordination Center focuses on the development of Internet infrastructure and social projects. And these two main themes have become part of the IT + Sovereignty and Internet + Society venues.
Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD RU, noted that the Coordination Center and the Internet Development Institute had been working together on the main projects for a long time. He said the institute had become a co-founder of the Coordination Center on December 3, a decision that was made at a regular meeting of the Coordination Center Council. “This allowed us to cooperate more closely with the institute and to take part in all its key initiatives. For example, Coordination Center experts helped organize the Internet + Society workshop during the December 2015 Internet Economy forum.”
