Positive Content-2016 launched on February 18

The Positive Content-2016 national contest was launched on February 18, to select the best Internet projects for children and youth. The 7th year for the event, it is aimed at choosing the most efficient educational resources that are safe both technically and in terms of content. The contest also promotes effective resources involving children, teenagers, youth and socially vulnerable groups in various online and offline activities.

“This year we jointly with our partners have re-launched the Positive Content contest and have set new goals for it. We try to find and support websites and development teams that are seeking to resolve social issues. ROCIT promotes accessible, secure educational resources to increase people’s digital literacy by promoting high-quality products with positive content,” ROCIT (Regional Public Center for Internet Technologies) Director Sergei Grebennikov said.

The contest is sponsored by RU-CENTER, RAEC, the Internet Development Fund and the Coordination Center for TLD RU. The project’s general partners are the Sputnik portal and the .ДЕТИ domain. “The project’s importance is in the direct promotion and development of anchor web resources for children and teenagers, as well as building parental confidence in the Internet,” the .ДЕТИ domain Marketing Director, Denis Zhilin, said (Reasonable Internet Fund).

To take part in the contest, applicants need to fill out a questionnaire on the website. Applications for Positive Content will be accepted through August 31, 2016. It is recommended that applicants review the Rules of the Contest before submitting an application.

“By November 2016, industry experts and a youth jury will decide on the winners of the contest. The results will be announced and the winners awarded in December. Incidentally, this year all participants will receive a Positive Content badge, which will be available for use on their web resources as a quality mark in digital products,” RAEK Director Sergei Plugotarenko adds.

Today’s Positive Content is not merely a contest, which is recognized by both professional and user communities; it is also a separate movement, a community of positive, young, creative people. This is why the organizing committee supports the White List of Positive Content websites and the daily monitoring system. These websites are useful and absolutely safe for use by young people of all ages.
