Coordination Center represented in CENTR’s Board of Directors

On February 17, new board members were elected at the 55th General Assembly of the Council of European National Top Level Domains (CENTR), held in Budva, Montenegro. The new board of directors includes representatives from major European national registrars: DENIC (.DE, Germany), AFNIC (.FR, France), and the Coordination Center for TLD RU (.RU/.РФ, Russia). First Deputy Director Irina Daneliya of the Coordination Center was elected member of CENTR’s Board of Directors.

Jörg Schweiger was elected Chairman of the Board (.DE). Pierre Bonie (.FR) also joined the board. The new board members started their work on February 17, by joining acting board members Elizabeth Ekstrand (IIS, .SE) and Danko Jevtovic (RNIDS, .RS/.СРБ), who were elected last year.

"This means the recognition of the importance of one of the world's major registrars," Irina Daneliya said immediately after the election. The CENTR association is an influential global organization, which represents the interests of European national domain administrators. The Coordination Center will take a more active part in the implementation of European policy for the development of domain space and the Internet in general.

Director of the Coordination Center Andrey Vorobyev congratulated his first deputy. "The Coordination Center is represented by many global branch organizations. Our experts are invited to international conferences, act as members of working groups and often speak to huge audiences. Irina Daneliya's work at CENTR’s Board of Directors will benefit the entire domain community. I congratulate Irina Daneliya on her election and wish her efficient and interesting work!"
