On February 25, the Coordination Center for TLD RU and IP CLUB will hold a roundtable discussion on, “Ban on usernames and images on the Internet (overcoming anonymity in the Internet): Pros and cons.” Participants: Mikhail Yakushev (ICANN), Dmitry Marinichev (Internet ombudsman), representatives of government bodies, and experts from Rambler, Yandex and Rostelecom, to name a few.
Moderators: Andrei Vorobyev (Coordination Center Director) and Dmitry Afanasyev (head and coordinator of the State Duma Expert Council on Information Policy, IT and Communications).
Participants will discuss how two opposing trends co-exist on the Internet – users striving for anonymity and the authorities seeking to ban it. They will describe technical ways of overcoming anonymity and establish how this relates to freedom of expression.
The roundtable will take place at 5 pm on February 25 in the hall of the Learned Council of Kutafin Moscow State Law University at: 9 Sadovaya-Kudrinskaya Street, Moscow. Registration runs until February 24, 2016.
