Russian Cyber Security Forum to take place on Safer Internet Day

Cyber Security Forum\i-SAFETY, an international forum on the security of digital technology and digital environment, as part of the Safer Runet Week, will be held on February 9 with the broad participation of Russian and international experts.

The participants will share their practical experience and discuss best security practices in dealing with threats created with the use of digital devices and the Internet. The agenda includes the issues of raising public and expert awareness, technology development, strategies and solutions, and legislation.

Forum sections will address software, hardware, training and legal aspects of digital security, legislation and decision-making, the role of specialists and users in ensuring information, mobile and cyber security, and the creation of a positive Internet environment and positive content. Leading Internet industry specialists, representatives of relevant government agencies, positive content experts, and members of the research and academic communities will speak at the forum. The forum was established in 2008. According to its organizers, in 2015, it brought together over 500 participants.

The February forum will take place on Safer Internet Day, which has been observed since 2004 on the initiative of the Insafe network and this year will involve 120 countries. As an official event of Safer Internet Day for Russia, the forum will be a culmination of the Safer Runet Week, an official Russian series of digital security events taking place across the country between February 2 and 9. The forum’s organizer is Regional Public Internet Technology Center and its co-organizers are the Russian Association for Electronic Communications, RSpektr, the Russian-British Chamber of Commerce and the French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum is supported by the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media and the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor). The forum’s partners are the Council of the Coordination Center for Top Level Domains (CC TLD.Ru), Kaspersky Lab and Microsoft.

The forum will take place on February 9 at Digital October (6/3 Bersenevskaya Embankment, Moscow).
