Management of the Coordination Center held a meeting with the representatives of the founders on January 19th. Heads of organizations that were founded by the Coordination Center were also invited to the meeting.
TCI Director Alexei Platonov talked about the work of TCI in 2015 and about its plans for this year. He highlighted that the main task of TCI is to support Russian domains and provide security in them. To do that TCI is working with the participants of Coordination Center’s project “Netoscope” and makes a great contribution to the development of the project. Senior Deputy Director at TCI Marina Nikerova introduced TCI’s budget. She drew attention to the fact that in 2016 there might be an increase in expenditure on support and development of TCI infrastructure and purchasing new equipment due to the foreign currency rate increase.
Deputy Director at “Smart Internet” Foundation Irina Danelia did a detailed presentation on the foundation’s work and development of .ДЕТИ domain. Director at Internet Support Foundation Mikhail Medrish informed the founders about the projects that the foundation is conducting and foundations plans for 2016.
Meeting participants discussed the issues of further cooperation with subsidiaries and promising joint projects. During the meeting priority courses of development for the Coordination Center in 2016 and 2016-2018 were also discussed.
“Today the role of public institutions in Coordination Center’s management has significantly increased, Institute of Internet Development has not long ago become one of the founders. In addition, the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation has also become one of the founders of CC. This is why such meetings are very useful to develop a common understanding of how our organization will develop in the future, what has to be done for the Russian domain space to grow and to provide comfort and safe usage of Internet by Russian citizens”, said Andrey Vorobyev, Director at the Coordination Center, after the meeting.
