Experts discuss how Internet helps society

On December 15, the Coordination Center for TLD RU hosted a preparatory meeting to discuss the key issues and develop the main points to be addressed at the upcoming Internet + Society roundtable, to be held as part of the 2015 Internet Economy Forum. The meeting focused on discussing the use of the Internet for the good of the people.

Participants included Russia's leading internet experts: Andrey Vorobyev from the Coordination Center, Igor Ashmanov from Ashmanov&Partners, Natalia Konovalova from the Information Democracy Foundation, Marina Nikerova from the Technical Center of Internet, Matvei Alexeyev from Rambler&Co, Andrei Yarnykh from Kaspersky Lab, and many others. The Internet+Society forum section is managed by the Coordination Center and the Regional Public Center of Internet Technology.

The Internet + Society roundtable, to be held on December 21, will cover four main topics: Internet infrastructure development, digital society establishment, digital security, and state e-services. The Digital Citizenship bloc will address the use of Internet to establish and increase social capital, to raise Russian citizens’ quality of life, and to improve their Internet competence and skills.
