Andrey Vorobyev invites students to join internship program at the Coordination Center

On December 2, 2015, the third youth forum, Ethical, Culturological and Civilization Problems of Work on the Internet, opened in the congress hall of the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics, which was attended by undergraduate and graduate students from technical universities. The forum targets gifted young people who plan to build their professional career in the IT, communication and information security spheres. Speakers at the forum told students about three major areas of activity to ensure trust and security in the communications and IT sphere— legislative, technical and educational.

The forum’s organizers are the Russian Association of Networks and Services, the Coordination Center for TLD.RU/.РФ and the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics.

In his opening remarks, Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD.RU/.РФ, told participants about CC projects for the younger generation, focusing on the Learn the Internet and Manage it! game. The fourth national championship was held earlier this year. He also highlighted the high-profile educational activities conducted by the CC in conjunction with the Institute for the Development of the Internet, describing their collaboration as important for the future of Russia’s Internet industry. He invited students to join CC internship programs. “The Coordination Center is working for the future and you are in fact our future. We are prepared to invest in this future. Our specialists will teach you a great deal and share their experiences. Study, study the Internet and join our internship program,” he said.

In his remarks, Arkady Kremer, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Russian Association of Networks and Services, provided a detailed history of the evolution and development of the Internet and touched on Internet governance. The changes that have been taking place in the network infrastructure and the rapidly growing number of users have brought about the need to address security issues in critical information infrastructure systems. This is why Internet governance has become a priority today, he said. Mr Kremer also spoke about Russia’s participation in the international standardization process, which helps strengthen the country’s position in the world. He described education as an important aspect of RANS activity.

“It is essential to prepare efficient specialists and pass on to them network traditions amid the ongoing rivalry in the information sphere,” he said. Other speakers at the forum were MTT General Director Yevgeny Vasilyev, MSK-IX Director Yelena Voronina, Voskhod Research Institute Director Armen Kocharov, Cyberplat advisor Boris Miroshnikov, Deputy General Director of the Technical Center of Internet (TCI) Marina Nikerova, and Lomonosov Moscow State University’s Institute for Information Security Issues Deputy Director Analtoly Streltsov, among others.
