The “Generation NEXT “New Technologies School” conference opened yesterday on RIW 2015. Representatives of the education community, Internet industry, high-tech, business and government participated in this discussion platform. Many different types of projects and achievements in the field of education and information technologies, best practices of teachers and Internet experts in the fields of Internet digital literacy, computer security, master classes, games and meetings with teachers and students are in the program of the event.
Discussion “How information technologies change education: personal experience?” opened the conference. Coordination Center Director Andrey Vorobyev participated in the discussion. He talked about the key projects that CC is conducting to provide safety for children on the Internet and develop media literacy.
“Education and education technologies is a modern trend of the Internet. Children and teenagers are the second largest Runet audience, Internet for them has already become an integral part of their life”, said Andrey Vorobyev. He highlighted the rope of the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ in development of adaptive safe environment. A whole new domain zone .ДЕТИ was created for that. Moreover, CC actively supports social educational projects. A good example is conduction of the 4th Russian online competition “Learn the Internet – Manage it!” that this year took place in all Russian regions and keeps getting more popular.
Internet game “Learn the Internet – Manage it!” was presented on an exhibition where CC together with Rostelecom conducted a quiz for students based on the game. The participants of the quiz on Internet knowledge were students of 5-11 grades and college students. It was a full-house; altogether 100 people took part in the quiz.
On the second day of the conference experts of Coordination Center and Smart Internet Foundation (.ДЕТИ domain registry) shared its practical experience on how to create safe Internet for children with students and teachers. Denis Zhilin talked about the development of .ДЕТИ domain, the head of Netoscope project Pavel Khramtsov gave students advice on how to safely act online. Also winners of the All-Russian contest for the best Internet-project for kids “iGeneration – 2015” that in 2015 was conducted by .ДЕТИ domain and Rostelecom were announced at the conference.
