On October 14, the Registrars’ Committee finished the process of absentee voting for the position of the chairman. According to the results, Aleksey Korolyuk, General Director of accredited registrar REG.RU, was chosen to be the new Chairman.
Andrei Vorobyev, Coordination Center CEO, congratulated the new Chairman of the Registrars’ Committee: “I congratulate Aleksey Korolyuk with the election, this is a very important position for the Russian domain industry. In the near future we plan to significantly strengthen the role of the Registrars’ Committee in CC’s work. In this regard I’m very happy that the Chairman is the head of the largest domestic registrar Reg.ru that has extensive experience of successful work in our industry.”
Aleksey Korolyuk, Chairman of the Registrars’ Committee, noted the importance of what Registrars’ Committee does: “Nowadays when the Internet is the inevitable part of people’s lives we need to listen to market players and end users more. Registrars’ Committee brings together business representatives that directly interact with users and know their needs. Thus, in current circumstances the function of such a body is critically important, since it represents all groups that are interested in the development of the registration system and the support of national domains. Development of the registration system and its adaptation to modern conditions will become the main prerogative in the Committee’s work in the upcoming year.”
