On October 12, 2015, Coordination Center held a press briefing where a new CEO, Andrey Vorobyev who was earlier a head of IRI's press service, and held a position of Director for relations with state authority of the largest Russian registrar Ru-Center, was presented. The new structure of Coordination Center Council was also declared at the press briefing.
The Chairman of the ROCIT Board, State Duma Deputy Leonid Levin pointed out that today, because of the changes in Russian legislation relating to the non-profits, great responsibility for CC activity is on founders. Besides, he reported that representatives of the Ministry of Comminucations and Mass Communications of Russia are invited to the founders' structure. The corresponding letter was sent to the Minister of Communications Nikolai Nikiforov in September. Leonid Levin pointed out that the state is to take part in making of the important strategic decisions concerning development of the Russian Internet. Thus, he promised the role of public institutes in management of the Internet will be kept and even strengthened.
Leonid Levin also noted that there are a lot of members from the previous structure in the new Coordination Center Council. The Council will become the first of all expert platform where technical specialists, professionals in the field of management and regulation of the Internet will be able to exchange opinions, develop decisions and offer new, constructive ideas for the Russian Internet.
The new Coordination Center CEO Andrey Vorobyev told about the nearest plans of work. The restart of registrar committee and strengthening of a role of registrars in CC work is one of the priorities, according to Andrey Vorobyev. He also told about the creation of the working group on intellectual property in CC. He emphasized that Coordination Center will actively support all branch events and continue to represent Russia in the international organizations dealing with issues of development of domain space and management of the Internet.
The representative of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of Russia Alexei Sokolov congratulated Andrey Vorobyev on appointment to the post of CC CEO. Andrei Kolesnikov who left this post on October, 2 also joined to congratulations. He told he considers Andrey Vorobyev's candidacy to be the most suitable for this work. Founders and new CEO thanked Andrei Kolesnikov for everything he made for the Russian domain space, first of all remembering supersuccessful start of .РФ.
