Andrei Kolesnikov: ".ДЕТИ is a place where a child is in security"

Coordination Center CEO Andrei Kolesnikov participated in a press conference "Generation NEXT "School of New Technologies" dedicated to the questions of secure use of the Internet by children. The press conference was organized by Intelligent Internet with assistance of ROCIT and RAEC. During the meeting, the experts and participants shared their experience in the field of children's online information security and young generation's media literacy growth. The issues, mentioned in conference speakers' presentations, testified to a rapid development of the children's Internet and to a need of paying more special attention to formation of the Internet environment aimed at children's development, which will be secure for them.

A member of the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of Russia Lyudmila Bokova told about the results of a lesson on the secure Internet having been held in 2014. 11,000,000 Russian schoolchildren took part in this lesson, the event received a wide teachers and parents' response. This year it is planned to repeat last year's experiment and to held the lesson in different forms – both traditional, and interactive, with the use of modern technologies.

Coordination Center CEO Andrei Kolesnikov emphasized that a fight against all potential Internet dangers is a fight against windmills, and this process demands a lot of resources. "So we decided to create a small island for children – .DETI. We have a pragmatic approach: instead of building barriers and filtering the content, we create a place where children can enter without parents and teachers' supervision. We guarantee that in .DETI a child won't meet any inappropriate content – it is followed by our partners from "Sputnik", with their help .DETI zone is every day checked for existence of insecure or harmful content", - Andrei Kolesnikov told.

Coordination Center CEO also told about the game "Learn the Internet – to manage It!", which CC holds together with Rostelecom. This year the fourth game championship will take place, each time a number of participants becomes more and more. Andrei Kolesnikov recommended the adults, who are working on children's online security issues and would like to learn how the Internet is arranged, to participate in this game.
