Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ participated in the III International Law Forum «Juridicial Protection of the Intellectual Property: Issues of the Theory and Practice» that took place in Moscow State Law University on 13-14th of February. Practicing experts as well as students of the academy participated in the forum. Different aspects of intellectual property protection, copyright protection and working with rights-holders were discussed at the forum. Annual international law forum «Juridicial Protection of the Intellectual Property: Issues of the Theory and Practice» has been held for the third time. Specialists from law universities and practicing lawyers from different countries of the world: the US, Germany, the UK, Italy and many other usually participate.
CC was the co-organizer of the round-table discussion «IP for IT» that took place on February 14th. Leading experts of the telecom industry: Sergey Kopylov, head of legal department at Coordination Center, Maria Malysheva, head of legal department at Technical Center of Internet, Dmitry Marinichev, special representative in the area of Internet regulation, Dmitry Afanasiev, head of department of analysis and overview of judicial practice in Court of Intellectual Property of the Russian Federation, Marina Rozhkova, professor at the Civil Law and Intellectual property rights Chair (MSAL), lawyer Anton Sergo, and also representatives of Rambler&Co and Microsoft. They discussed tendencies in the area of legal provision of intellectual property and analyzed the most interesting cases from their practice.
Sergey Kopylov considers participation in the forum to be very important for the whole Russian Internet industry: «Internet companies are more likely than any other to encounter interesting and non-trivial tasks in the area of intellectual property protection. Experts that work in this field have accumulated unique experience that is extremely useful both to students and practicing lawyers that work with copyright. Such events are a great format to exchange experience and discuss the most important trends in this area.»
