Andrei Kolesnikov: «One of the security threats are «unsanitary conditions» on the user devices»

The National Forum for Information Security «Infoforum 2015» opened on February 5 in Moscow. The main topics discussed are issues of information security in Russia, methods of dealing with cyber crime, means of creation of information security systems. Experts of the field discussed a range of issues concerning security of critical information resources of the state and citizens, and also problems of technological independence of Russia and have become particularly relevant today.

The main themes of the session «Stability and security of the Russian segment of the Internet» were topical threats to the information security in the net and ways to eliminate these threats and building a safe Internet environment. Alexei Moshkov, Head of the Bureau of Special Technical Measures within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported that in 2014 only more than 60 million attacks on Russian Internet resources were recorded. He highlighted that first of all these attacks check the vulnerability of the Russian information space and their growth will continue.

Andrei Kolesnikov, CEO at the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ spoke about measures that could be taken to provide security of the Russian segment of the Internet. He drew attention of the session participants to the fact that in addition to the real external threats to the security, there are «unsanitary conditions» on the computers of the users of very different levels. Andrei believes that it is important not only to provide global information security, but also security of every device connected to the Internet.«Our world has become much more complicated. The number of information threats and challenges annually grows, as indeed increases the number of good and useful things. Expert and technical community should actively assist out colleagues in the fight against these threats», said Kolesnikov.

At the end of the session Andrei Yarnykh, the Head of Strategic Projects at Kaspersky Lab, showed some interesting figures during his speech. He said that their experts daily detect about 325 thousand malware samples and the number is constantly growing. We remind that Kaspersky Lab is one of the participants of the Netoscope project. It is an information and analytical resource created by the Coordination Center and dedicated to the information security in the domain space.
