The service collects information from open sources about domain names both Russian and foreign. This expanded Whois allows to get information about domain names in any domain zone. Thus, users will be provided with publicly available information about domain administrators. All the service information is provided in Russian, which greatly facilitates the usage of the service.
“This service is designed for public authorities, primarily the courts. It is especially useful for the domain disputes when foreign domain names are present. Coordination Center regularly receives requests for different domain names that CC has no relation to, for example in the domain zones .COM or .ORG. Now we can assist in these cases, the state agencies will receive necessary information on request. I believe that our Whois will turn out to be useful and sought-after”, said Sergey Kopylov, the head of the legal department of the Coordination Center.
