Autonomous non-profit organization “Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ” has successfully passed scheduled inspection of Roskomnadzor for compliance with the Federal Law “On Personal Data”. Violations were not found during the inspection.
Coordination Center is an operator of personal data in relation to the main registries of domains .RU and .РФ, it performs the functions of setting the rules and usage policy of registries and also determines the purposes of personal data processing, the composition of personal data to be processed and actions done with personal data. Protection system of personal data in the Coordination Center was designed and implemented to meet the requirements of Russian legislation and regulatory bodies. In accordance with requirements of the law the “Model of threats to the information system of Coordination Center’s personal data” was developed. It defines the structure and content of the measures to provide security to the personal data. Also Coordination Center regularly conducts analysis of conditions and factors that pose security threats to personal data when they are processed and develops corresponding response measures and protection.
“The main registries work with a huge amount of information. More than 5 million domain names are registered in domains .RU and .РФ. In fact a significant amount of personal data of Russian citizens is processed non-stop, which requires from the registration system not only strict compliance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation but also constant monitoring of potential threats and ongoing supervision of protection and inviolability of the data. Positive result of Roskomnadzor’s inspection have once again proven that personal data protection in CC is effective and reliable”, said Sergei Kopylov, the head of legal department at the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ.
