88 malicious domains neutralized in April

In April, Group-IB sent to accredited registrars 104 notices to remove domain names that were in violation. As a result, 88 domain names were taken down.

Of the remaining 16 delegated domains, two were not blocked as their administrators quickly resolved the problem, and 14 more were unblocked after their owners addressed the violation through the standard procedure. The decision to unblock the domain names was made following an appeal from CERT-GIB.

Most malicious domains are flagged for malware (63%), while a small part (5%) is managed by botnet controllers.
