The Council of the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ met on February 27, 2014, to consider and approve a package of regulatory documents, which included a revised Accreditation Agreement, Accreditation Provision and Requirements for Accredited Organizations.
A working group formed in February 2013 spent the past 12 months collecting and summarizing suggestions proposed by the Coordination Center and accredited registrars. Various options were considered before the documents were revised and expanded.
The Accreditation Agreement will now have an Appendix – a Technical Center Provision, which, among other things, lists the requirements and protocol for the interaction between the Coordination Center, registrars and the Technical Center: the parameters of services the Technical Center provides to the registrars (service level agreement, SLA), the procedure for amending the Technical Conditions of Accessing the Register, etc.
The Coordination Center Council unanimously voted to approve the entire package.
“The Coordination Center is dedicated to improving the documents that form the foundation for the stable functioning of the domain names registration system,” said Coordination Center’s Director Andrei Kolesnikov. “The importance of this work is appreciated by our accredited registrars, as they have proposed many interesting suggestions. The new regulatory documents will certainly help promote the further development of Russian domain space, and increase the transparency of relations between all of its users.”
The council has also approved the Coordination Center development plan for 2014, as well as elected an audit commission for 2014-2015 and appointed Alexander Klimov, a council member in 2011-2013, to head it.
