On the 48th ICANN conference an agreement was signed between Smart Internet Foundation and corporation ICANN. Under the agreement Smart Internet Foundation officially received the right to manage .ДЕТИ domain. This is a very important step for the registrar of a new top-level domain; this means that a new domain on the Internet will appear in a little while.
Now the new top-level domain registrar can start testing the technical infrastructure on which children’s domain will function. Registry of domain names, DNS-infrastructure and communication channels will undergo tests. Approximate start date of testing — December 2013. Online users are actively discussing rules of domain names registration in .ДЕТИ domain. The concept of Rules and Conditions has already been approved by the management of the Foundation and currently is going through a public discussion. Future users of .ДЕТИ domain can leave their comments and suggestions to improve the Rules and Conditions.
Also a process of accreditation of registrars to work with children’s domain is going to start in the near future.
