October, 1-2, 6th Eurasia Network Operators Group (ENOG 6) Forum takes place in Kiev. More than 200 Internet specialists from 20 countries participate in the Forum. Among them are representatives of Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and Technical Center of Internet as well.
During two days the Forum’s participants have been discussing latest issues of modern Internet: traffic exchange and global network connectivity development, personal data protection, interconnection between the Government and Internet.
Andrey Kolesnikov, CEO of Coordination Center, became the leader of the discussion panel devoted to the Ukraine’s Internet market development. The discussion participants exchanged opinions on how Ukrainian Internet business is developing and participants from other countries shared their national experience in building Internet economy. “It’s quite interesting that the cost of Internet access in the Ukraine is one of the lowest in the world: it has been reached firstly with help of the soft governmental regulating. On the one hand that is good for Ukrainian users but on the other hand this approach considerably lowers marginality of the Ukrainian Internet business and to my mind slows its development a bit”, - said Andrey Kolesnikov.
The theme of Dmitry Belyavsky’s (TCI) speech was Internet security. He spoke about how to his mind it is possible to restore confidence links in the net considering latest global security incidents.
Let us remind you that agreements on ENOG creation were reached on the 7th World Conference RIPE Regional Meeting in October 2010 in Moscow. One of the initiators of the Forum’s creation were Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and Technical Center of Internet. The 1st Eurasia Network Operators Group (ENOG) Forum took place in Moscow in June, 2011. ENOG gives an opportunity to technical Internet specialists from CIS and Eastern Europe countries exchange experience and knowledge on issues of Internet and network technologies in its region development. The Forum is a kind of new way of communication and working out unique approaches in the sphere of technical Internet professionals.
