Igor Milashevsky to act as a government representative in the Coordination Center Council

Starting August 2013, Igor Milashevsky, counsellor for Minister of Mass Communications of the RF, will represent the government in the Coordination Center Council.

The Coordination Center Council acts as an entity governing Russia's ccTLD registry. Traditionally, the board consists of 11 experts, a government representative and a chairperson.

Igor Milashevsky was born in 1960, and graduated from Kiev High Engineering Radiotechnical School of Air Defense. In 1998, he received his MBA at the High Business School under the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of the Russian Federation IEMI (European Institute of International Management, Paris).

From 1994 to 1998, he held various positions at Vympelkom PLC and enterprises of Vympelkom group, serving as a vice-president for marketing and sales. From 2004 to 2007, he was holding office of Minister of Telecommunications of the Chechen Republic, and was a member of the government in the republic. Igor Milashevsky has founded and held top management positions in a number of system integrator and software companies.

In 2011, Igor Milashevsky was appointed to the post of Director of the Department of State Policy in Information Technologies and Informatization Coordination of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. As Russia's representative, he also reported to the dedicated ITU workgroups, and served as Russia’s representative to the GAC at the ICANN. Since August 2012, he has held the post of the Counsellor to the Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.

Igor Milashevsky is married and has three children.

The Coordination Center Council hopes for further effective cooperation with the government representative, and expresses thanks to Denis Sverdlov for his valuable input to the Coordination Center's strategic development and marketing, both in Russia and worldwide.
