Coordination Center for TLD RU and Technical Center of Internet conducted a session in Russian Court for Intellectual Rights. Thanks to the open discussion the judges had a possibility to find out more on the particularities of legal regulations appliance in the Global Net, understand which measures on rights protections is viable to apply in Internet and also get infrormation straight from the source on how modern technologies influence intellectual rights.
In the frames of the seminar Sergey Kopylov, Head of Coordination Center Legal Department, spoke about Russain Federation’s legal regulations as well as about particularities of executions of judgement on cases connected with Internet-industry, in practice. Georgy Georgievsky, Head of CC’s Department on Registrars and Users Coordination, shared information on Internet organizational and technical pecularities, and Maria Malusheva, Head of TCI Legal Department, introduced the judges to the new top-level domains - ICANN program, which helped to create hundreds of new domain zones in Internet. As to Mrs Malysheva’s opinion, the program could directly influence intellectual rights protection problems, so it is necessary to know about possibly emerging problems now already.
Russian Court for Intellectual Rights is the court which has been specially created to decide any disputes in this field.
