Second nationwide "Study the Internet, Govern It" contest to take part in October

The Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ and Rostelecom have started accepting the applications for the second nationwide "Study the Internet, Govern It" contest. The competition will take part in October 1-31, 2013, while the student and scholar applications will be accepted starting today and until September 30, 2013.

The organizers of the contest have announced the second nationwide contest at the exhibitory tournament that took part at the RIF+KIB, one of the most significant Internet industry events. Over 50 RIF+KIB attendees, well-known Internet experts and younger users alike, proceeded with their Internet IQ Test by answering questions about the global network. Three days of the tournament helped reveal winners that received prizes (iPad 2, iPad mini and Canon camera). The winner was Michael Matsukevich ("Aspect"), the second prize went to Maxim Belaichuk (ABBYY), with Julia Truskavina (Domani) at the third place.

The students are able to register for the second nationwide "Study the Internet, Govern It" contest at the contest website, интернет-чемпионат.рф ("internet-championship"). There are two ways of taking part, either as an individual, or as a team, collecting ten students from the same school or university. In one hour, the students will have to solve the maximum number of the special module based on "Study the Internet, Govern It". The winners will get certificates and prizes from the contest hosts, the Coordination Center and Rostelecom.

"Study the Internet, Govern It" is a social education project aimed at increasing Internet awareness among Russian citizens. The major part of the audience are younger citizens – children and students. In the 2012 championship, over 500 schools took part in the team classification and over 3,000 students all over Russia competed in the individual contest.
