Kaspersky Lab and the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ have announced a joint initiative to keep Russia's national domains, .ru and .рф, malware-free. As a part of the analytical cooperation, the companies will exchange data on how the cybercriminals behave in the global network.
"Our cooperation with the Coordination Center is an one-off initiative, as no security software vendor had cooperated with a national registry to tackle cybercriminals on a regular basis," says Andrey Yarnikh, head of Internet Solutions department at Kaspersky Lab. "Analysis and proactive work will make life more complex for the cybercriminals, enabling us to prevent malware and malicious content from spreading in the Internet. I'm sure that, together with the Coordination Center, we'll make the Internet a much cleaner and safer place for Russian users".
"The Coordination Center was always very attentive to the security-related issues of the Internet and the domain space," Andrei Kolesnikov, the Coordination Center director, points out. "Even now, there are several CC-accredited organizations aimed at tackling malicious activity in the Internet as threat response centers. With Kaspersky Lab, we will be able to bring our efforts to a completely new level, not only fighting the threats but preventing them as well".
