At the exhibition “Svyaz’-Expocomm 2012” the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and Rostelecom launched a project of and educational on-line game “Explore Internet – Govern It”.
Within the framework of the exhibition “Svyaz’-Expocomm 2012” the partners held a presentation of the game “«Explore Internet – Govern It” and a demonstrational championship with the participation of pupils from Moscow schools. The pupils had an opportunity to familiarize with the game modules and then test their knowledge in the form of contests.
Russian on-line championship “Explore Internet – Govern It” will involve pupils and schools of Russia from October 1 to November 1, 2012. Now it is possible to find information about the rules and modules of the game and go through “training” in the Internet at: Internet-Championship RF. Obligatory registration for all participants starts from June 1 to October 1, 2012.
“Explore Internet – Govern It” is a social project aimed at improving Internet literacy of the growing generation. Using the form of games – tasks, arcades, puzzles, brainteasers, multimedia-questions the project is meant to tell children and young people about the possibilities of the World Web and give basic knowledge about the structure and principles of its functioning.
According to the assessment, today when the ability to use the Internet has already become a basic skill of a modern man, more and more specialists and ordinary people are getting concerned with the problem of proper and safe work in the Internet of a wide circle of users and first of all of children and young people. The main technical product which is offered today by the operators for the solution of this problem is a specific prohibitive measure in the form of installation and adjustment of content filters. Launching the project “Explore Internet – Govern It” the specialists of Rostelecom and the Coordination Center express confidence that this educational product will help to put into their minds the rules and understanding of work in the Internet like axioms and algorithms of exact sciences.
