President of the RF told about the development of e-democracy in Russia at the State Council Session

State Council Session took place on April 24 in Kremlin. President of the RF Dmitry Medvedev told about current and future development of e-democracy in Russia: “Russia must be in the first ten countries of the world by the level of implementation of new technologies in all spheres of society life. I am sure that we will be able to do that”.

In his speech president Dmitry Medvedev paid much attention to the development of e-democracy in Russia specifically to the program “Open Government”. He said that “Open Government” is a transparent, simple for people and efficient system of governmental and municipal services provision. First of all it concerns comprehensive implementation of non-contact technologies, minimization of document flow and an opportunity to assess the provision of such services and fast resolution of arising problems.”

Director of Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ, Andrey Kolesnikov was present at the Session of the State Council. “It is pleasing that Dmitry Medvedev in his speech spoke about the Internet and its development and use in Russia. The State understands clearly that the Internet has become an integral part of society life and it is necessary to use unique possibilities of the Internet for the formation of Russian democracy. The President said that “all interested society must be involved in the formation of the rules of the game”, and I think that it is our industry that will become a key one in the adjustment of this cooperation. Runet is the industry which Russia must be proud of and not to be ashamed of it”, said Andrey Kolesnikov after the end of the session.
