Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ in the official documents section has published a draft provision “On procedures to be applied for arising domain disputes” which is a supplement to the Rules of domain names registration for domains .RU and РФ.
We remind that The Rules of domain names registration for .RU and .РФ came into force on November 11, 2011 without the disputes section and the disputes about domain names were solved in compliance with the previously existed rules provisions ( separately for domain .RU and domain .РФ). The development of the new section about disputes started soon after the adoption of unified rules. While working out the document it was necessary to take into account the established practice and new precedents-in particular, the increasing number of disputes concerning the infringement of trade mark rights.
The provision which has been published today-is the result of half-a-year work of a special group including lawyers of Coordination Center and registrars, technical specialists and experts addressing the problems of copyright and intellectual property protection.
“The document takes into account opinions of all parties concerned, including rights-holders. Best lawyers from either side worked on it. The section about disputes resolution was a major stumbling block while implementing new rules so the provision was elaborated accurately and took much time and efforts of all parties. We would like a broad spectrum of internet community to participate in the discussion of this new document.
