On 5 March 2012 ANO Coordination Center for TLD RU posted on its web-site its 2011 annual statement signed by Andrey Kolesnikov, the CEO.
The report highlights on both key developments in the Russian and global domain industry and major achievements by the Coordination Center in 2011, including a further increase of popularity of zone .РФ, a sustainable expansion of zone .RU, the Russian Internet Governance Forum, introduction of the new Terms and Conditions of domain names registration in domains .RU and .РФ, and the launch of statistical resource “Domains of Russia”, among others.
As to the 2012 priority objectives, the report cites support of a further advancement of the domain zones RU/РФ, implementation of necessary measures aimed at mitigation of unlawful usage of domain names, contribution to new socially important initiatives on the launch of root domain zones, improvement of the system of domain names registration in domains .RU and .РФ and other key aspects, which ensure further expansion and security of the Russian domain space.
The results of the period under review the Coordination Center accomplished its 2011 activity plan in the frame of the budget approved by its Council and matched the performance benchmarks.
