On 27 January at 10am the Coordination Center for ccTLD .RU will hold a press conference to announce rulings of the CC’s Board meeting on findings by the Commission on Examination of the Current Situation with the Open Registration of Domain Names in ccTLD .РФ. The Commission comprised representatives from the CC, the Internet community and deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
The Commission was tasked to determine whether the registrars complied with the Accreditation Agreement and Terms and Conditions of domain names registration in IDN TLD .РФ, as well as whether holding auctions for domain names in IDN TLD .РФ was in violation of the Terms and Conditions; whether there was evidence of certain CC’s Board members being affiliated with registrars accredited for providing services in IDN TLD .РФ.
The press conference will give a chance to obtain first-hand information from the CC’s Director, Andrey Kolesnikov, and members of the Commission, as well as hear about decisions and principles which the Commission members were guided in drafting conclusions and recommendations.
