The CC’ Board elections have taken place

On 20 December 2010 regular elections of the CC’ Board were held. The new members elected to the Board are Alexander Fedorovich Klimov, Alexander Sergeevich Naschekin, Alexander Valerievich Panov and Sergey Alexandrovich Plugotarenko. Marina Vasilievna Nikerova replaced the outgoing Chair of the Board Mikhail Vladimirovich Yakushev. The New Board members will come into office from 1 January 2011.

The Board comprises 12 elected representatives, and yet another Board member representing the federal government is coopted to the Board by the RF Ministry of Telecommunications and Mass Media. The Board members are elected for the term of three years. Accordingly, each year one-third of the Board steps down and new members are elected to replace them. The call for applications from new candidates was closed on 31 October. They can be nominated either independently or on recommendation of sitting Board members. As many as 2 new members of the Board were to be elected under each category. In all, 16 applications were submitted, of which 5 ones - on recommendation of the Board members.

This year the following Board members are to step down from the Board: , Mikhail Vladimirovich Yakushev the Board Chairman, and three Board members: Vasily Vadimovich Dolmatov, Alexey Pavlovich Platonov and Mark Mikhailovich Tverdynin.

New Board members are:
Alexander Fedorovich Klimov, Commercial Director of ZAO “TeliaSonera International Carrier Russia”. He is active in developing the Internet in Russia and improving its connectivity with the global net.
Alexander Sergeevich Naschekin is Vice-President in charge of federal programs with OAO “Rostelekom”. He leads the work on development of a new version of delivery of public services to the RF citizens and organizations on the basis of the SAAS model. Mr. Naschekin has an impressive record in managing large IT corporations in Russia and practical expertise in implementation of serious infrastructural projects.

Alexander Valerievich Panov is Managing Partner of the Hosting Community group of companies and Director General of “Garant-Park-Telekom”, Ltd. and ZAO “Tsentrohost”. He is a member of the CC’s Expert committee.

Sergey Alexandrovich Plugotarenko is Director of RAEK. He is one of the most prominent members of the Internet community in Russia. He traditionally coordinates program committees of a number of RUnet conferences and represents the sector’s interests at various levels.

From 1 January 2011 the Composition of the CC’s Board will be, as follows:
