Dear Internet registrants,
The Coordination Center for ccTLD .RU turns your attention to the fact that vending of a place in the queue of provisional applications for domain names registration in zone .РФ goes contrary to the effective practice. In other words, in case you are offered to participate in an auction for purchase of a nice domain name you are forced to pay for the unwarranted service and at the same time nobody will be able to ensure that your application will be approved.
The system of domain names registration operates in such a way that from similar applications only that will win which will be the first to be registered in the main registry of ccTLD .РФ. Currently 18 registrars have been accredited to operate in ccTLD .РФ. The chance that your application will compete with a similar one but submitted by a different registrar is rather high. That is why setting auctions and vending queue within one registrar represents a shady activity for which nobody is held responsible, nor this multiply chances for a successful bid.
The CC deeply regrets this fact. We recommend you to turn to registrars who do not set auctions for applications and do not seek to extract additional money from you.
Useful tips from the Coordination Center:
1. In case your application was not accepted on the grounds that a similar application has already been in the queue created by the registrar, just turn to another registrar. This is a free market.
2. Check prices. The CC does not set sale prices, that is why prices may vary.
3. In order to raise chances for getting your domain name registered, turn to several registrars.
4. Do not trust registrars who argue they have higher technological chances for domain names registration. All registrars are in the same position.
5. Refrain from submitting applications through brokers or dealers. Nobody will guarantee that en route from the dealer to the registrar applications will be put on hold longer than necessary.
6. The simpler your domain name is the fewer chances remain. Do not compete with domain market professionals. Think why you need domain «друг.рф» where you may register domain «лучшийдруг.рф» with greater chances for success.
7. Think twice before registering a domain name which might infringe rights holder of a trade mark. The effective court practice is not in favor of cybersquatters.
