Freelancer Limited, Australia, the parent company of Escrow.com, a secure escrow service widely used in domain transactions, has published its financial report for 2025. According to Domain Name Wire, last year was a record year for the service, with its revenue reaching AUD 12.3 million (approximately $8.73 million), representing an 18.8% increase compared to the previous year.
However, this result was achieved primarily through increased service fees. The total volume of transactions processed through the platform declined by 8.6% year-on-year. In fact, transaction volumes at Escrow.com have been decreasing for the fourth consecutive year, following a peak in 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when domain name demand spiked.
Despite the ongoing decline, overall transaction volumes remain above pre-pandemic levels. Moreover, the fourth quarter of 2025 was the strongest quarter of the year, with the total value of domain name transactions reaching $102.5 million. This indicates that there is hope for continued growth of the domain market activities.
