TLD Investors, citing data from NameBio, has published a ranking of the ten largest publicly disclosed domain name sales in new generic top-level domains (new gTLDs) in 2025. The highest-priced domain sale of the year was Super.xyz, which changed hands for $287,607, followed by Crypto.bot, sold for $250,000. Third place was shared by three domains: Intelligence.xyz, My.bet, and Grid.xyz, each closing at $150,000.
In total, six of the top ten sales involved the .XYZ extension, underscoring its continued prominence in the new gTLD aftermarket. Other domain zones represented in the ranking include .BOT, .BET, .EXCHANGE, and .APP, each with one entry: Rwa.exchange, sold for $135,000 (fifth place), and Viral.app, which reached $100,000 (seventh place).
The domain industry has long been prone to its own “conspiracy theories,” one of which suggests that the popularity of the .XYZ new gTLD is artificially inflated and that many reported sales are not genuine. In this context, it is worth noting that Super.xyz was acquired by an operational company: Super, which provides sports betting and online casino services, and the domain is already in active use. However, most of the other domains in the top ten were unresponsive at the time of publication. This suggests that a significant portion of these acquisitions may have been made for investment or speculative purposes, rather than immediate deployment.
