DN Journal issued its next rating — the last but one this year — of major domain transactions made publicly available. Ron Jackson, who created the previous period’s rating called the results remarkable: then, over 60 five-digit transactions worth $10,000 and more were registered within two weeks, and the average value in the top 20 made up $118,000.
The present period turned quite the opposite: the domains’ market has obviously taken a respite. The main reason should probably be the Thanksgiving Day and related four-day holidays in the United States. Anyway, the preceding two weeks gave us the only information about one transaction to the amount of over $100,000: the Driffs.com domain name was purchased at the Sedo marketplace for £99,000 ($131,670 at the then exchange rate).
The second line in the rating is occupied by a generic top-level domain .COM: the name CocoBet.com changed its owner for $75,000. The third result was the sale of the Online.jobs domain name for $65,000. As for the national domain zones, the largest transaction there was the sale of the Apostar.pt name in the Portuguese national domain for €17 500 ($20,300). The word apostar means a “stake” or a “bet” in Portuguese.
